Libby Evans is just five years old. Libby and her family live near Wagga Wagga, in New South Wales. The Evans family, are into water-skiing and racing and Libby, who’s always been keen to take on any challenge, naturally wanted to join her family and older siblings, in the sport they all love. However, in order to participate she needed a specially made harness with a quick release, to help her ski safely and effectively. Libby’s parents successfully applied for a grant from START foundation in 2017, which made it possible for Libby to have a custom-made quick release harness and wetsuit, which meant she was able to participate in local races throughout ACT and country NSW in the Under 10, 2017 Girls water-ski racing season.
Libby’s sporting dream is to keep racing and when she’s old enough, participate in the Under 13 Girls category. She wants to race the 5 club days and river races in Wagga, Cowra, Echuca, Robinvale, Mildura, Albury, Griffith and Sydney. Well done Libby, you are a fantastic grant recipient. START foundation look forward to seeing you grow and continue to achieve your sporting dreams.
